Well, the semester is coming to an end, and it has been a busy one, hence my lack of posting anything for quite a while. Of course, it doesn't help that my camera is having issues connecting to my computer, and pretty much all of my recent work needs to be photographed. However, when I do manage to get that figured out, I will have to show:
* Colorful koala felt collage
* Duct tape dress featuring Silly Symphony Flowers and Trees
* Art quilt based on a photo
* A stuffed animal version of my Lymin gryphon character
* Maybe a few shots of my bronze and steel projects, even though they are incomplete
Also, when I am able to grab a copy of the file as my flash drive was not big enough to hold it, I have a claymation! But I can't post that until after the animation festival on tuesday. Perhaps on monday I will post a still frame. It's actually pretty corny, and it took me five hours to film because the camera I used was very slow, but it makes me laugh, and everyone else in class seemed to enjoy it, so that's all that matters.
And despite the fact that I am relieved the semester is about over, I am looking forward to the next set of classes. Flash animation, more fibers class, and mixed media drawing. I do also have a week long summer course that I am really excited about, the first ever integrated arts institute. It's going to be a lot of fun, even though I am not entirely sure what to expect.
Lastly, on a side note, I received a number from someone wanting to commission a large stuffed giraffe which, after making a gryphon, will be incredibly easy and fun now that I have had the experience in stuffed animal creation, from pattern to final. I won't be able to tackle it for a couple weeks but maybe this could be the start of something good for me? I never thought I would venture into the world of becoming a fibers artist, but I am enjoying it, and looking forward to doing some fabric posters of classic to modern pin-ups. Most likely be selling most of those because I don't exactly have enough room for ALL of it! Now wouldn't that be an awesome summer job? Making artwork. Probably won't happen this summer, but next? Maybe...
So, if all goes well, there is a possibility of me taking commissions on fabric work. I'll stay updated on that.
