Normal 3 ft
Tallest 5 ft

Home: Born in Alaska, but she can find a home in anyplace she goes

Standard Descriptions:

Feet:
Front feet can be (In her masterfully skillful way) be used as hands. Similar to dog feet with four toes and a dew claw. In Meder’s case, the dew class in another toe and is lower for use as a thumb. Only four toes on back feet. Overall, the feet have a heavy look and each toe features retractable claws, like a cat! Don’t try de-clawing her. She will get pissed off and attack. She is also fairly good at climbing. Nothing steep or smooth, but if it’s a tree with lots of branches or a rocky cliff, it’s no problem.

Ears:
Ears are large and thin, and are very expressive. Fur is thicker on the back and the ears can be flattened down onto the neck in cold weather, or just in expression. So, expressive ears!

Antlers:
She has two small antlers that are more similar to horns. They have the same texture as antlers, but are permanent and do not keep growing.

Nose:
Excellent sense of smell, similar to a wolf.

Whiskers:
Has only 2 whiskers, one on each side of the nose. They are long, thicker, and more flowy than typical animal whiskers and sport a little fluff of fur at the tip!

Fur:
Majority of hair is between a short and long coat. So, not short-haired, but not long-haired either. Right in between. Fur is thicker around neck and following the spine. Hair grows thicker in winter, and mane and spine fur become fluffier. Hair also grows slightly longer and thicker around the feet during wintertime.

Tail:
Her tail is as long as her body from nose tip to tail base, and is flexible. Think dinosaur tail, but not quite so heavy. It is sturdy enough though to provide enough assistance in balance, allowing her to stand on her back feet for a fair amount of time. She has a fluff of fur on the tip, like a lion just bigger.

Body:
Much of the body’s weight is in the chest area, a typical feature of the species. Their broad chest leads to a narrow waist. The front legs are also more muscular, compared to the back legs which are leaner and have a more graceful appearance.

Movement:
The best comparison for her movement is a cougar. She has a slightly lumbering walk, but still graceful. Of course, as graceful as she may be at times, she has her clumsy moments.

Sound:
So what kinds of sound can this creature of mine make? Besides speaking, of course. She has a great growl! Like the deep rumble of a big dog growl. Other than that, she can make calling sounds almost like a howl but more like a single deeper drawn out note. Besides that, snarling, of course, a huffing bark-like sound, and the little snort that tends to be accompanied with the kicking up of dirt.

Accessories:
A straw cowboy hat with a blue denim band around it featuring a horseshoe charm. She also has, when she chooses to wear them, two silver cuff earrings on each ear. While in “adventure mode”, she has a special harness backpack/saddlebag made of brown leather and matching fingerless gloves (Made special for her feet!) that half protect her feet while running through harsh terrain. Items typically included in her saddlebag are: rope, parchment, ink, quill pen, and a blanket. Carries other items as needed.

Magic/Abilities:

While it is common for her species to have some form of magical ability, the only one she is able to use is her size-changing ability. She has yet to discover what magical powers she has.

Personality:
Meder is very laid back. She is no very easily angered, preferring to shrug things off. When something is said or done that really angers her though, you know it. She likes to live life the way a historic pirate once claimed: One who never fights when they can talk, but never runs when they have to fight. The only problem with her speaking, is her sarcasm. She tends to say things at times that, even though it is meant as a joke (Maybe?) is just said at the wrong time and place, and earns her that awkward silence. It is in those moments she is silently cursing herself. But when things get really bad, she can always find the right thing to say.

On top of that, Meder is more of a loner. The leader in her heart, but steps down when among a group. She wishes she could stand up and become that leader for others, but is still waiting for the day to come. However, she doesn’t let it get her down. She is a kid at heart, and will usually find the brighter side of things. Always looking for a way to liven things up. By dancing, singing, bouncing around, whatever it takes! And if that doesn’t work, her clumsiness should make the attempt amusing at least!

Character History:
Meder can be very secretive. She did not start out as the creature she is now, but was morphed into that form by Komico. But ever since her change, she hasn’t gone back. After a year in her new form, she has been accustomed to her rural life. While she is still trying to connect with whatever magical powers she has, her animal-like form does allow her a connection with animals, even if she can not speak with them. Except for the company of Komico, she lives alone in the wild in a small abandoned cabin. On occasions, when she feels like stirring up some trouble, she ventures into civilization. The sight of a creature like her causes some mixed reactions!

Design History:
The start of these creatures came a long time ago, with a bed comforter I just had to have. It was black with various stylized white and grey Chinese dragons. On one bored sleepless night, I named every single one of those dragons, but the only one I remembered the next day was Komico. So I drew him. Or rather, attempted. He looked… nothing like a Chinese dragon. But after several years, I found the original drawing, and drew him again. But this time, I drew him to look like the original drawing. Not with the intention of making him look like a Chinese dragon. So he became my character, and later my alter-ego little buddy. It was on my 18th birthday that I finally drew myself as one of these creatures. Naturally, I named my fursona Meder, after my last name. The idea being, no matter if I get married or not, I will always have my last name. So where did the colors come from? Komico’s colors came from a phase I was going through when I was in love with the Sprite Remix sodas and those were the colors. Meder’s colors… a while back a friend and I said someday we would get an apartment together and buy a bunch of those colorful dishes that are at Wal Mart during the summer. Well, those plans changed, but when I saw the Sudden Color collection come out, it was perfect. Exactly what I wanted. The colors? Blue, pink, green, and orange. Ever since then, those have been my colors.

And so, I have created my own species of creature, and I absolutely love them
Character profile for my fursona Meder, for use in the Persona World Story hosted by ~Therony. Includes a picture (With shading!) that shows her outdoors harness and bag, as well as a little extra formal outfit for some kingdom's parade or something. I had fun:D
